TeLog · Wenling Xinhe Yijia Software Development Studio (sole proprietorship)

Privacy Policy

Effective: 1 September 2026 · Last revised: 16 September 2026 · Version 2.6.3 (canonical https://www.telog.cn/legal/en/privacy.html)

This Privacy Policy applies to TeLog (App Store name may appear as「特档案TeLog」) distributed via Apple App Store and related minimal backend services. The product operator and personal-information handler is Wenling Xinhe Yijia Software Development Studio (sole proprietorship) (温岭市新河壹嘉软件开发工作室(个体工商户);not Tesla, not Apple). The App is listed on the App Store under an Apple Developer Program Individual membership; that Individual account holder is the same natural person as the sole proprietor of the Studio. TeLog is designed for Tesla owners in mainland China. Even if listed in overseas App Store territories, personal-information practices, notice-and-consent, and disputes follow the laws of mainland China (including PIPL) and this Policy, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise. By agreeing, signing in, or continuing to use TeLog, you acknowledge this Policy. It works together with the Terms of Use (EULA).

1. Operator & scope

2. Core principles

  • Official Tesla path only: Vehicle data comes from Tesla’s official OAuth / Fleet API after you authorize the App. We do not collect or store your Tesla password.
  • On-device by default: Telemetry, drives, charges, and tracks are stored in an encrypted local database on your phone unless you separately opt in to cloud features.
  • Optional cloud needs separate consent: Cloud collection, backup/sync, and in-app family sharing require additional express consent.
  • No ad tracking: No advertising SDKs, no sale of personal information, no cross-app tracking inside the App.

3. China compliance & App Store standards

4. How vehicle data is obtained

TeLog uses a third-party app registered on Tesla’s China developer platform (developer.tesla.cn and reads vehicle data only after your authorization.

StepWhat happensVehicle telemetry via TeLog servers?
Developer registrationOperator obtains Fleet API credentials
Owner authorizationYou sign in on Tesla’s official auth page (typically auth.tesla.cn)No
Token exchangeHTTPS token proxy exchanges codes/refresh tokens; client_secret stays server-sideTokens only — no telemetry
Vehicle fetchApp calls Tesla Fleet API directlyNo (default)
On-device processingParsing, drives/charges, stats on your deviceNo
Optional cloud collectionOnly with separate consent + Cloud entitlement; encrypted copies in mainland ChinaYes (optional)

4.1 Typical OAuth scopes (as shown on Tesla’s page)

Examples of derived data: VIN, status, GPS/tracks, SOC, charging metrics, OTA, doors/locks, climate; official vehicle_config trim signals (Fleet Telemetry Trim / trim_badging, CarType / car_type, optional has_ludicrous_mode) used only on-device to prefill DamageLens configuration (you may override). That extra read is one-shot and is not on the regular poll. Also content you create (geofence names, notes, rates, feedback).

5. Information we process

CategoryExamplesUploaded to our servers by default?
Account / IDsTesla OAuth IDs, local device/archive IDs, Cloud status (Apple)Token proxy only; billing with Apple
Vehicle & tripsVIN, drives, tracks, charges, energy; official trim identifiers used to prefill DamageLens config (overridable)No (on-device)
Precise locationGPS, geofences, reverse-geocoded addressesNo; coords may go to map providers
User-enteredNotes, rates, expense fields, feedback email content/screenshots; alert codes / on-screen warning text you type for vehicle-alert lookupNo (email only if you send it; on-device lookup stays local)
Vehicle-alert lookup (on-device library)Preloaded alert codes and messages; UI defaults to the current authorized vehicle (switch via My Vehicles); query card does not show raw handling adviceNo (free; query text stays on device)
Alert-photo text recognition (when you start it)One photo you take or pick of the car’s alert screen; on-device Vision OCR for lookupNo — photo is not uploaded
Vehicle-alert AI explain (Cloud, when you start it)Confirmed library fields (code, warning, meaning, basic advice) plus your follow-up; AI rewrites language only — not a diagnostic systemTransient processing via TeLog China servers to Tongyi text models; skipped if the library has no usable facts; no ads/sale; no photos
Damage VIN photo OCR (when you start it)One plate/document photo; on-device Vision reads the 17-character VIN into the estimate formNo — that photo is not uploaded
Damage estimate photos (when you start it)Selected close-ups of damage plus model fields needed for analysis. Results may include a flood/water inspection checklist for reference, and you may save a damage/accident record to the on-device vehicle archiveTransient forward to Tongyi vision via TeLog China servers
APNs device token (cloud collection on)iOS token used to silently wake the App and merge gap-fill (e.g. today’s mileage while the phone is locked)Only after separate cloud-collection consent; not an ad identifier
Optional cloud copiesDrives/tracks/charges/state/geofences for gap-fill & backupOnly after separate consent, in China
Family sharingInvitee IDs and granted scopesWhen that feature is enabled
Tesla latest-info policy (OTA / sales / after-sales copy)Public excerpts delivered by TeLog servers and cached on-device; no VIN, drives, tracks, or telemetry in this payloadPublic copy only — does not upload your vehicle archive
Financing calculator (when you tap it)Car Assistant opens Tesla China’s official page https://www.tesla.cn/financing-calculatorNo — tesla.cn handles the form; TeLog does not receive financing applications
SupportLogs/screenshots/versions you voluntarily sendSupport tickets only

We do not collect Tesla passwords, Contacts, the full Photos library (only a single photo you pick for damage close-ups, VIN plate OCR, or alert OCR), biometrics templates, or card numbers (Apple handles payment).

6. Purposes & legal bases

Core archive features; on-device vehicle-alert lookup (current authorized vehicle; optional on-device OCR); Cloud-only vehicle-alert AI rewrite/follow-up (text only, after usable local-library facts — not a diagnostic system; no free-replacement or official-warranty promises); Nearby charging (authorized vehicle location via Tesla Fleet API); Vehicle feature toolbox (model/year manuals excerpts + optional Tongyi text guidance you initiate; guide quota separate from DamageLens and alert AI); damage-estimate vision analysis when you start it, with optional official-trim prefill you may override, on-device VIN OCR, and optional flood-inspection checklist; maps; optional cloud fill-in (including location snapshots used on-device to complete an open drive trail), silent APNs wake, and backup; family sharing; Cloud entitlement checks; customer support; security/compliance. Marketing unrelated to these purposes and sale of personal information are not practiced. Under PIPL, bases include consent, contract performance, and statutory obligations as applicable.

7. On-device by default & optional cloud

Default: encrypted local DB on your device. Uninstall/wipe/device backup deletion removes local data.

Optional cloud (Cloud membership): requires Cloud Collection Disclosure consent; used for continuous logging, sync, backup, and silent APNs wake so gap-fill (including today’s mileage) can merge while the phone is locked; not for ads; you may stop and delete remote copies and the device token anytime.

Retention: local until you delete; alert photos used only on-device for OCR; alert-AI and damage-estimate payloads are transient on China servers; cloud copies (if enabled) in mainland China, typically rolling ~365 days, deleted when cloud is turned off; support email generally ≤24 months unless law requires longer.

8. Maps & location services

For lawful maps and reverse geocoding in mainland China, TeLog may use Amap (Gaode) Open Platform with keys obtained by the operator. Coordinates and render params may be sent to Amap; Tesla passwords/tokens are not. Optional OSM Nominatim fallback may be used when allowed and Amap is unavailable.

9. Third parties

Tesla (Fleet API); Apple (App Store / StoreKit / APNs silent wake when cloud collection is on); Amap; China-region cloud hosts for token proxy, optional vault, damage-estimate vision, vehicle-alert text AI, and vehicle-feature-toolbox text guidance; Alibaba Cloud Tongyi / DashScope (vision for damage photos you submit; text for alert explain you start — isolated requests; API keys stay on the server); optional OSM Nominatim; tesla.cn public pages when you open a latest-info link or the Car Assistant financing calculator (that card opens only https://www.tesla.cn/financing-calculator). We do not sell or rent your personal information beyond those uses and legal requirements.

Vehicle-alert lookup vs AI: on-device library search is free and stays local (defaults to the current authorized vehicle). Photo OCR is on-device and does not upload the image. AI explain/follow-up is Cloud-only: the on-device library is the fact source; AI only rewrites language and must not invent causes or parts. It requires usable library meaning/advice first (otherwise no model call) and sends text only. Independent of DamageLens vision analysis. All AI outputs are informational — not Tesla official diagnosis or repair instructions.

Tesla latest-info policy / financing calculator: both are free. OTA, sales, and after-sales excerpts are compiled from public sources, delivered by TeLog servers, and cached on-device so a later visit can show the last copy while refreshing in the background. This path does not upload VIN, drives, or telemetry. The copy is not an official Tesla App promise. After you tap an outbound tesla.cn link you leave TeLog and Tesla’s site rules apply. The financing card opens only the calculator URL above; TeLog does not fill or receive loan applications.

10. Cloud membership & Apple payments

Cloud membership (IDs typically com.jchen.Telog.plus.monthly / com.jchen.Telog.plus.yearly; also called TeLog Plus / Cloud) is billed by Apple. We do not collect card numbers. Refunds/invoices follow Apple.

Free examples: live status, emergency tools, vehicle-alert lookup (on-device library, optional on-device photo OCR), VIN/tires, recent drives/charges, basic stats, standard share cards, OTA history, TOU electricity settings, maintenance checklist, vehicle digital passport (on-device viewing), geofence management, expense reports (5 free exports), DamageLens (limited monthly quota; official Tesla trim may prefill configuration and remains overridable), road-trip logbook (check-ins, no subscription), Tesla latest-info policy (server-delivered public excerpts), financing calculator (opens tesla.cn only), Nearby charging (Charges tab; Tesla Fleet location lookup; no Cloud required), Vehicle feature toolbox (feature lookup + AI guidance with a free monthly guide quota; Tongyi AI server required for AI calls). Cloud examples: always-on smart logging and silent sync while locked (today’s mileage), full history, analytics dashboards (you may open the hub directory first; tapping a specific panel requires Cloud), battery health/value, vehicle health index, attribution & driving reports, passport PDF export and optional cloud backup, vehicle-alert AI explain and follow-up, family share, unlimited expense reports, parking stats, sync/backup, PDF/Excel, premium share templates, higher DamageLens quota, higher Vehicle feature toolbox AI-guidance quota (e.g. ~100/mo or ~1200/yr; App display controls). App screens and App Store listing control.
